Here Are Financial Protection Department’s 4 Largest Buys of IT Services

The state’s new Department of Financial Protection and Innovation spent less than $2 million combined for its four largest purchases of IT services in the first half of calendar 2021.

According to data from the Financial Information System for California’s State Contract and Procurement Registration System (SCPRS), the department made the following buys:

• $1,398,400, spent with Unisys Corp. for document remediation (making websites and online documents accessible to those with disabilities) for fiscal 2021-22, as required under AB 434. The April 7 contract expires in June 2023 and was awarded under a cooperative agreement.

• $1 million with Infinite Solutions Inc. of Roseville for Document Quality Network (DOCQNet) support, relating to DFPI’s Self-Service Portal used by license applicants and licensees in the state. The contract, awarded May 19 and running through April 20, 2022, was under the state’s Master Agreements.

• $150,000 with Kiefer Consulting of Folsom for Microsoft SharePoint support and maintenance. The contract, awarded April 19, runs through June 30, 2023, and was under California Multiple Award Schedules (CMAS).

• $5,979 with Alliant Insurance Services Inc. of Newport Beach for maintenance on Kodak scanners. The non-competitive contract was awarded May 6.
