A key financial entity at the state made just a handful of purchases but spent more than a million dollars on IT services last month.

The California State Controller’s Office (SCO) made eight such purchases in January, and spent more than $1.2 million on the five costliest. SCO spent exactly $1,214,939.02 on those five purchases; here, with rounding, is what that money paid for, based on data in the State Contract and Procurement Registration System:

  • $875,000 to Ryan G. Sanders Consulting for “financial, data, technical and project management advisory services.” This is a two-year contract from Jan. 18-Jan. 17, 2024.
  • $200,000 to Ablegov for software maintenance for Planview PPM Pro Sandbox. SCO made the purchase Jan. 4.
  • $116,000 to Advanced Technical Solutions for software maintenance for Qualys Express suite. SCO made the purchase Jan. 20.
  • $15,000 to the StateStore for hardware maintenance on Symmetra PX 250. SCO made the purchase Jan. 28.
  • $9,000 to Natix for software maintenance on Adobe Connect. SCO made the purchase Jan. 26.
