Here's What Judicial Branch Spent on IT Services in 2020

The California Judicial Branch, which encompasses the California Supreme Court and the state’s appellate and superior courts, spent nearly $17.5 million in calendar 2020 on its five most expensive contracts for IT services, according to a state database.

The Judicial Branch’s five largest contracts awards, according to the Financial Information System for California, were:

  • AT&T Managed Network Security Services, in a $7,015,763 contract running from June 1, 2020, through May 31, 2021. 
  • Court modernization projects, including remote video and virtual customer service, data governance and other digital services. The $3,303,000 contract, purchased through the Superior Court of Los Angeles County, runs from Dec. 20, 2020, through June 30, 2021.
  • Professional services related to “migration of the Phoenix SAP system to the cloud and perform system migration to SAP S/4HANA,” a $2,727,190 contract awarded to EPI-USE that runs from May 3, 2020, through June 28, 2022.
  • Consulting services from OnCore Consulting, a contract valued at $2.6 million and running from July 24, 2020, through Aug. 5, 2021.
  • A multiyear maintenance agreement with Cisco SmartNet, through Key Government Finance. The “year 5 of 5” contract, for $1,978,240, was dated April 22.
