The Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal) Project has awarded IBM a $3.2 million contract for the company to provide enterprise resource planning (ERP) advisory services to the project.
The contract provides for two staff to assist the state in designing, configuring and implementing a statewide ERP solution from Oct. 8, 2012 to June 30, 2016.
"IBM provides the FI$Cal Project with ERP Advisory services through the design, development and implementation (DD&I) phases of the FI$Cal Project," said Antonette Alig from the FI$Cal Vendor Management Office in an email. "IBM will assist the State to ensure that its project roles and responsibilities are met and that ERP best practices are being followed."
The FI$Cal Project is an effort by the Department of Finance, the State Controller’s Office, the State Treasurer’s Office and the Department of General Services to use ERP software to modernize California financial business operations. The IBM staff will advise on best practices and provide recommendations for the project.
