“The Assistant CIO (ACIO) provides oversight for IT contracting, procurement, and vendor management in compliance with DIR’s policies and procedures and DIR’s procurement delegation,” the job posting says. “The incumbent manages IT sourcing/procurements, in coordination with the Business Services Office, and project lifecycle including scope and requirements definition, timeline development, resource allocation, and cost accounting.”
In addition, the posting notes: “The assistant CIO assesses and anticipates technology projects, recommending appropriate action and resources by engaging the state’s Project Approval Lifecycle process as appropriate for new projects, provides technological roadmaps that allow the department’s information systems to merge and share information as they are refreshed, upgraded or replaced. The assistant CIO also ensures that Maintenance & Operations plans are in place for all systems in production.”
Desirable qualifications include:
- Demonstrated experience and ability managing an IT organization with demonstrated management and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated experience and ability establishing governance processes within Information Technology to manage risks and resources and achieve objectives.
- Demonstrated practical experience in the formulation, analysis, and implementation and compliance validation of organizational and governmental policy.
- Demonstrated experience and ability overseeing the operations of an IT organization which include Budgeting, Human Resources, Procurement and Purchasing, and policy review.
The position has a monthly salary range of $7,781 to $13,657, and the application deadline is Sept. 15.
