“I am thrilled to be at a company that has such an incredible amount of passion and intelligence to fight the bad threat groups out there,” Patel told Industry Insider — California in an email. “Halcyon is cutting-edge technology that leverages its machine learning and AI platform to protect and recover organizations from ransomware. Halcyon just started their SLED practice, and I will be focusing on the West.”
Jason Willadsen, Halcyon’s senior director of SLED, told Industry Insider that he’s glad to have Patel on his team.
“Vaishali brings a vast amount of experience navigating the SLED market in California,” Willadsen said via email. “She is 100 percent customer-centric and laser-focused to ensure her clients are taken care of by vendors and partners. Halcyon could not be more pleased to have Vaishali leading our California SLED campaigns.”
Patel’s experience and relationships in the California public sector have served her well, she said.
“I have already had the opportunity to meet a number of CIOs and CISOs at the California Public Sector CIO Academy* and [California County Information Services Directors Association], and the level of interest has been overwhelmingly positive!” she said.
Patel is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology/business and where she was active in Alpha Phi Omega and Sigma Phi Omega.
“In my spare time,” she added, “I like to travel the world (been to 53 countries so far), spend time with my shih tzus and two nieces, yoga and reading fiction.”
