Info-Tech Research Group Adds 5 More to California Team

The company’s new additions include San Jose’s former chief technology officer and the former chief information officer for the Los Angeles Fire Department, as well as three veterans of the private sector.

Info-Tech Research Group, which has a long history of working with California state government departments and agencies, is again growing the team that serves the state. The company has added five new tech professionals — two executive counselors, a vice president and two regional sales directors.

The new additions were announced this week by Dr. Scott MacDonald, the company’s senior district director of field sales for the Western states, in an email to Techwire.

“Info-Tech’s IT Advisory and Consulting demand is growing in California, which requires strategic investment in local talent to ensure that our public-sector clients are well-served,” said MacDonald, who was promoted to his current role in September. The five new additions are:

I am thrilled to be part of the ITRG team!” Info-Tech leadership said, “Katy brings decades of experience to Info-Tech’s executive services, having supported IT leaders in their professional and personal initiatives.”

Porter is the former chief information officer and commander of the IT Bureau for the Los Angeles Fire Department, a role he held for almost five years after decades in the public and private sectors in a variety of tech-related roles. “I bring more than 35 years of experience working in the public sector solving big problems by bridging the gap between business and technology,” Porter said. “During my career, I worked with more than 100 jurisdictions across the U.S., Canada and the UK, ranging from very large jurisdictions, like New York, Chicago, London and Los Angeles, to the very small and more rural municipalities. My career also includes two decades in IT management consulting with Gartner, where I was responsible for public-sector consulting teams in New York City and North America, leading consulting delivery and business development.” Said Info-Tech leadership: “Our consulting arm is strengthened with Scott in a leadership role at Info-Tech. Serving the public sector can be a complex and daunting task on the best of days, but Info-Tech is in good hands with Scott.”

Working with the public sector here in Southern California, I am excited to help our customers/prospects focus on the key fundamentals of IT, and Info-Tech has already done the heavy lifting for these fundamental processes. Helping customers maximize their investments brings a great deal of personal satisfaction, and Info-Tech provides the best path the achieve this goal.” Info-Tech leadership added: “The county and city of Los Angeles presents itself with unique IT challenges, and Info-Tech is excited to bring Paul to grab that bull by the horns and provide the local support they need and deserve.”

I look forward to making a difference both here in my community and at Info-Tech, and continuing to learn from the brilliant minds around me.” Info-Tech leadership added: “Info-Tech continues to keep up with the ever-changing state landscape and, to do so, we needed to invest in more local talent directly within Sacramento. We’re lucky to have James on board with his extensive career in IT!”
