An IT veteran with more than 25 years in tech sales and management, Montague joined Ciena after previous affiliations that included Education Networks of America and Zayo Group. While with Zayo, he rose from account executive to sales director and then to account director.
“As a performance-driven individual, I strive to understand the needs of my customers in all facets of their working world; most often it involves many functions — technology, finance, internal politics, company structure, and company direction,” he said.
Ciena specializes in networking systems, services and software, and the company says it supports "85 percent of the world’s largest service providers as well as cloud and regional service providers, enterprise networks, financial services, healthcare, utilities, media and entertainment, retail, public sector, and all levels of education."
Montague lists his achievements as including “25+ years of driving strategic relationships and revenue goals in both management and frontline sales,” adding that he “managed and grew major accounts (in) government, education, wholesale/wireless, carrier, satellite and enterprise.”
He has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Oklahoma.
