His new role brings Cantey from Oregon to California, where he began his IT career.
“After spending the first part of my career in IT and cybersecurity working with state and local government and education customers in California, then moving to Oregon and supporting additional public-sector customers from the Northwest and Alaska, I am happy to be back in California, where I can be more intimately involved with ever-increasing security challenges that face our communities and public entities,” Cantey told Techwire.
Cantey, who is based in the Tracy area, began his career with Axent Technologies in 1999. Axent was purchased in 2000 by Symantec, and Cantey spent more than 18 years with Symantec as a principal systems engineer before joining Netskope recently.
“I’m thrilled to be part of a leading California company like Netskope, with great culture, team and technology that is addressing the ever-expanding cloud IT footprint in the state,” Cantey said. “I look forward to renewed relationships and new ones as I help our government agencies and schools protect their constituents, students and my neighbors.”
