A new pilot project is giving users across the legal system easier access to public case information within the Los Angeles County Superior Court system.
Late last month, officials announced the availability of the unified Court Access Portal, which allows attorneys, court staff and the public to find publicly available case information in one location.
Users will have access to case information, documents and calendars that span civil, criminal, family and juvenile courts, as well as others.
“The launch of the Court Access Portal pilot is a significant step toward a more efficient, transparent and user-centered experience for court users looking for important case information,” Executive Officer and Clerk of Court David W. Slayton said in a press release. “More importantly, the public launch of the Court Access Portal provides the technical groundwork for further improvements to the court’s other information channels, which we look forward to announcing at a future date.”
The pilot project is expected to continue for several months and will not immediately replace the existing legacy case management systems. Those systems will remain available to users until further notice.
These enhancements set the stage for future consolidations, such as the Media Access and Justice Partner portals, which are planned for a later date.
