Laguna Beach Issues RFP for City Hall Data Center Upgrades

The city seeks proposals for substantial upgrades to its City Hall data center including electrical and specialized design services, data processing and other information services. The estimated bid value is listed as $335,000.

The city of Laguna Beach has put out a solicitation package for extensive upgrades to its main data center.

The posting, published Thursday, notes that the work consists of a facility upgrade to the existing Laguna Beach City Hall data center, and the RFP calls for a range of services from electrical and specialized design services to data processing and other information services.

“The project includes the design, permitting, and installation of electrical, cooling, and communications infrastructure, including a data center cabinet, data center Vertiv CRVs, exterior concrete support pads, (1) APC 16kVA LX UPS System, a 66M Communication block consolidation and remediation, data center reconfiguration, single point grounding, and structural anchoring, all within the City of Laguna Beach,” the RFP reads.

The project is scheduled to begin in November with a duration of 100 days, according to the solicitation. The estimated bid value is listed as $335,000.

All inquiries must be submitted to the city by 5 p.m. Aug. 29 and electronic proposals are due by 2 p.m. Sept. 5. Public Works Assistant Director Thomas Perez is the point of contact for this solicitation.
