The Governor’s Office of Land Use and Climate Innovation (LCI), formerly the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research, is in search of its next CIO following the departure of Zaid Ridha.

Ridha's LinkedIn lists him as the new CIO for the Department of Human Resources as of August. LCI, meanwhile, is in active recruitment to replace him.

Ridha had served as the office’s IT leader since July 2023. In July 2024, the office was officially transitioned from OPR to LCI.

Before joining OPR/LCI, Ridha held leadership and technical positions with other departments, including Covered California and the California Franchise Tax Board.

In its recruitment notice, LCI notes that it is looking for a leader with knowledge of state government and a “proven track record in project management,” among many other desirable qualifications.

More information about the position is available in the job posting and duty statement.
