Los Angeles County signs $63 million contract with CGI for ERP Project

Los Angeles County has signed a $63 million, 10-year contract with CGI Group Inc. for the fourth phase of the county’s enterprise financial and human resources management application modernization project, according to the global IT firm.

CGI, which provides IT and business process service to companies and governments, has worked with LA County since 2004 during the first phases of ERP modernization efforts, according to CGI. The county uses CGI’s AMS Advantage, an enterprise resource planning solution designed for state and local government.

"While many other government entities have failed or faced delays and cost overruns, Los Angeles County and CGI have achieved significant success implementing our ERP system on-time and on-budget while also eliminating numerous legacy systems and their related costs," Robert Davis, the county’s assistant Auditor-Controller, said in a statement.

The new contract was announced Nov. 2 and covers Phase four of the project, which will allow the county to continue improving work with vendors and information access and storage, according to CGI.
