Kehoe has led IT for Los Angeles County since November 2017, during which time the county has been a regular high finisher in the Center for Digital Government’s* Digital Counties program. Under his leadership, the county focused on digitization, modernization and strategy. He helped steer the county through the COVID-19 pandemic, which involved quickly setting up telework capabilities for more than 30,000 employees.
He was also tasked with responding to a phishing attack against the county in December 2019.
Before Los Angeles County, Kehoe was CIO for King County, Wash., for more than seven years, and near the end of his time there, he was named to Government Technology’s Top 25 Doers, Dreamers and Drivers list in 2015. Earlier this year, Kehoe was featured in the ongoing Techwire One-on-One series.
He will take over leadership of Washington Technology Solutions, or WaTech, after James Weaver left in February to become CIO of North Carolina.
Kehoe will start with the state of Washington on Aug. 1, according to a press release.
