Mary DiPietro Hired as OIS Chief Deputy

Mary DiPietro has been hired as chief deputy at the California Office of Information Security, the entity that ensures the protection of state government data, systems and applications, California Department of Technology spokesman Anthony Lewis said.

DiPietro comes from Connecticut where she worked as IT director for the state Department of Developmental Services for the past six years. She oversaw a data center, 3500 users and 95 locations.

DiPietro previously worked as the Data Center Operations Manager for the city of Hartford’s Information Services She is certified as an Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), an Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and in Information Security Management (CISM).

In May, Gov. Jerry Brown appointed Michele Robinson, who previously served as chief deputy, as director of OIS.

The OIS also serves as a liaison to federal, state and local government on cyber security.
