Microsoft Names Tech Exec Peter Yen to Sales Specialist Role

Before joining Microsoft in August 2023, the Los Angeles-area resident held a series of sales and executive roles, including with Nuance Communications, NTT Ltd., CenturyLink Business, Time Warner Cable Business, Sprint, Lucent Technologies, and AT&T.

Peter Yen, a veteran sales professional with more than 30 years in technology and communications, has been named a sales specialist for Microsoft’s Global Black Belt Contact Center — Public Sector West.

Yen, based in the Los Angeles area, had served as an account executive for Microsoft until he transitioned to his new role last month.

In his new role, Yen will be “supporting the front-line sellers for the Contact Center suite of GenAI solutions including Copilot Studio,” he told Industry Insider California in an email. “I am super excited to join the Microsoft Biz App GBB team, looking forward to collaborating, inspiring, and empowering the customers on their AI journey,” he added.

In a post on LinkedIn about his new role, Yen wrote: “In this crucial role, I will be driving sales and technical strategy, collaborating with a virtual team of solution specialists, account directors and (working) closely with top-tier public-sector customers to help them achieve their desired business outcomes and cloud transformation goals.”

Yen is a graduate of California State University, Los Angeles, where he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing/marketing management.
