Registration is now open to members of the Municipal Information Systems Association of California (MISAC) who are planning to attend the 2025 MISAC Tahoe Summit, scheduled for June 4-6 at the Margaritaville Resort in South Lake Tahoe.
MISAC chapter presidents are Benny Hsieh, assistant IT director for the city of Mountain View, representing the Northern Chapter; Nicole Guttridge, chief information officer for the city of Elk Grove, for the Central Chapter; and Agustin Preciado, IT manager for the city of Torrance, for the Southern Chapter.
“The group has been meeting regularly and are pulling together an outstanding program,” said Brad Walker, executive director of MISAC.
MISAC, made up of government IT professionals in California, “promotes the understanding and strategic use of information technology within local government agencies through sharing of best practices.”
The event, to be held at Margaritaville Resort Lake Tahoe, kicks off June 4 with registration, check-in and a welcoming reception. Over the following two days, attendees will attend educational sessions and breakouts as well as presentations from four vendors (to be announced).
The keynote address, set for 9 a.m. June 5, will be by Jeff Butler of Dallas, an author and workplace strategist who explores human behavior within the working world. His topic will be “Building an Effective Multigenerational Workplace.” Butler earned a computer science degree from UC Berkeley and worked at various companies in Silicon Valley before starting his own, which included building web applications and analyzing technology trends.
Among the breakout sessions, educational seminars and vendor presentations, attendees will have opportunities to network with activities including golf. A dinner cruise is planned for Thursday evening.
“In addition to all of the great educational programming, I think the highlight of this year’s Summit will be the sunset dinner cruise aboard the M.S. Dixie paddle-wheeler,” Walker added. “I’ve taken this cruise in the past and the vistas are just spectacular.”
