Lorna Eby appointed CIO of Victim’s Compensation and Government Claims Board

Lorna Eby has been named the new CIO for the Victim’s Compensation and Government Claims Board (VCGCB), the has board announced.

"Lorna is a strong leader committed to supporting the Board’s mission and goals," public affairs chief Jon Myers said.

Eby has been the acting CIO for the Board since former CIO Maida Black left the position last September, who was appointed CIO in March 2012.

Eby has worked for VCGCB for three years as the IT Manager of Client Services and Development Support, during which she helped implement the CaRES Modification Project and Service Level Agreements for IT.

VCGCB is responsible for two programs, California Victim Compensation Program (CalVCP), which provides compensation for victims of violent crime, and Government Claims Program (GCP), which attempts to resolve claims against the state before a person files suit.
