Newsom Makes Appointment to State Data and Innovation Office

The Office of Data and Innovation has a new principal analytics engineer in Pleasanton-based Rajesh Veera. Gov. Gavin Newsom announced the appointment Friday.

Gov. Gavin Newsom has appointed a new principal analytics engineer to the Office of Data and Innovation in Rajesh Veera.

According to the Friday announcement, Veera comes to the role with several analytics roles under his belt. He owned Analytics Factory LLC, served as a senior data engineer at Nevro Corp. between 2020 and 2024 and was a data engineer for Shutterfly between 2015 and 2019. He also worked in a data analytics consulting capacity for Wells Fargo.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and information technology from DVR College of Engineering and Technology in India and a Master of Science degree in computer science from Northwestern Polytechnic University.

The appointment does not require Senate confirmation and annual compensation is $156,000.
