After more than 20 years of state service where she oversaw some of the state’s largest IT projects, Shell Culp intends to retire at the end of May, she said.
Culp ends her tenure as acting director of the Office of Systems Integration, which manages IT projects for the state of California’s Health and Human Services Agency and EDD. Some of the high profile programs include UIMOD, the Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) system that issues public assistance benefits, and the Case Management, Information and Payrolling System (CMIPS), which tracks case information and processes payments for the California Department of Social Services.
In Sept. 2011, she was appointed chief deputy director at OSI and had previously worked as chief information officer at the Department of Toxic Substances Control, among other key positions.
Gov. Jerry Brown on Feb. 19 appointed John Boule as director of OSI. Boule previously served as director of the California Statewide Automated Welfare System, Consortium IV.
