In addition to his state service, Cabrera brings more than 18 years of experience in technology from large enterprises like Intel, AT&T and Toyota. His career has also spanned a variety of environments supporting public-sector security teams in different parts of the globe. In his most recent assignment, Cabrera worked as a senior security analyst at the University of California, Davis. He maintains several security-related certifications, including SANS and ISC2.
During the last few years, Cabrera said, he has grown increasingly familiar with the FireEye platform through his public-sector work. As an enterprise administrator and System and Organization Controls (SOC) analyst, Cabrera regularly performed incident response and forensic investigations leveraging several of the FireEye solutions.
"I wanted to join this team because I have seen firsthand how they continuously protect critical infrastructure from cyberthreats with innovative technology, not to mention the expertise they bring to the table from the front lines of incident response, is second to none," Cabrera said, referring to Mandiant Consulting Services, a FireEye unit.
Cabrera, a chief warrant officer in the military reserve, also participates in National Guard training, where he provides information security and incident response training to U.S. Army Cyber Protection Teams.
FireEye is a cybersecurity company and offers a single platform that blends innovative security technologies, threat intelligence and Mandiant consulting.
