Pure Storage Promotes Wiseman to Area VP, Americas SLED

In his new role, Wiseman, a SLED veteran, will develop a team to help Pure Storage’s public-sector customers transform how they serve constituents via technology.

Pure Storage has promoted Michael Wiseman, its director of sales for US SLED West, into a new role as area vice president for  Americas SLED.

Wiseman, who has made state, local and education a focus since joining Pure Storage four years ago, will now lead the Pure Storage sales team responsible for SLED customers across the U.S. 

He’ll be responsible, he said on LinkedIn, for leading a “passionate sales team, delivering the Modern Data Experience” to SLED customers. Wiseman is also be charged with developing a team capable of enabling helping the company’s public-sector customers transform how they serve constituents via technology.

Wiseman has more than 25 years’ experience in business and tech sales and has represented sales as part of Pure Storage’s “Pure Equality” Inclusion and Diversity Team, an employee mentoring and onboarding initiative.

“Mike Wiseman has been a leader for Pure’s SLED business for over four years now, so we are eager to see him take our U.S. SLED business to the next level in his new role as area vice president,” said Gary Newgaard, vice president of public sector at Pure Storage. “Agencies are moving towards a hybrid cloud strategy to support data mobility and Mike will help us achieve our mission of delivering a modern data experience for these agencies.”

Before joining Pure Storage, Wiseman spent nearly 17 years with Cisco, where he worked in sales leadership in its commercial, enterprise, and public-sector segments and the National Partner Organization. He was also the company’s Public Sector/SLED leadership representative for Junior Achievement, where he helped teach younger students about business and entrepreneurship.
