Google is looking to an industry insider to lead its cybersecurity sales in the state of California. Roger Schotsal is that leader.
Schotsal comes to the company after more than three and a half years as a regional sales manager with cloud security solution provider Zscaler, but his resume includes several other big industry names as well.
“We are very excited to welcome Roger to the Google Public Sector team. Roger will be managing the Google Cloud Security practice for the state of California,” Google Cybersecurity Head Keith Haugrud said in an email. “In this role, Roger will be assisting our clients across more than 170 departments, boards, bureaus and programs to secure their organizations and, in turn, secure the fourth-largest economy on the planet.”
Before joining Zscaler, Schotsal was a senior sales engineer with Palo Alto Networks and a customer escalation engineer with Juniper Networks. His resume also includes work in the technical realm, including time with Gluware, Nokia and Intel, and as a data center engineer with Cricket Communications, among other roles.
"I am excited to join Google Public Sector as a cybersecurity sales leader. Building on my experience helping organizations strengthen security, advising leaders on architecture and identifying operational improvements, I will partner with state of California customers to turn security into measurable outcomes,” Schotsal said in an email. “My goal is to help organizations achieve greater resilience, faster modernization and increased trust."
Schotsal holds an MBA in marketing and technology management and a Bachelor of Science in managerial economics from the University of California, Davis.
