Roseville Recruiting for Assistant IT Manager

Responsibilities of the role include coordinating IT activities with other divisions and departments, providing assistance to the chief information officer, and preparing the division budget and assisting in budget implementation.

Roseville, the largest city in Placer County, is recruiting for an assistant IT director in the IT Department.

The assistant director’s responsibilities include:
  • Assisting the chief information officer (CIO) in managing and directing the Information Technology Department;
  • Planning, organizing, directing and coordinating the activities of an assigned division within the IT Department, including providing technological support for a variety of business and operational processes to city departments;
  • Coordinating IT activities with other divisions and departments, providing highly complex staff assistance to the CIO, and serving in the absence of the CIO, as required;
  • Preparing the division budget and assisting in budget implementation;
  • Participating in the forecast of additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, supplies and services, and administering the budget;
  • Recommending the appointment of personnel, providing or coordinating staff training, and conducting performance evaluations;
  • Coordinating with customers to identify IT needs and determine appropriate applications.

Applicants should have six years of increasingly responsible professional experience in the IT industry, including two years of management responsibility. In addition, applicants should have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably with major course work in computer science, IT, engineering, business management, information systems accounting, finance or a related field.

The position has a monthly salary range of $10,265 to $13,756, and the recruitment will be ongoing until the position is filled. More information is available in the job posting.
