The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors has provided a new online feature on their web page that allows the public to comment on Board agenda items. These comments will then become part of the official public record at the meeting.
The feature allows a member of the public to officially comment on Board matters even if they are unable to attend the meeting and would keep the Board from having to sort through separate emails and letters about their meetings.
"This is an important step in using technology to improve service delivery as well as increasing public participation in local government," said Rami Zakaria, chief information officer for Sacramento County, in a Board press release.
To leave a comment on a Board agenda item, go to www.saccounty.net, click on Supervisor Meetings, choose a Board meeting and the upcoming agenda item. From there click on "Public Comment" and fill out the online comments form.
The online form must be filled out before the meeting. The submitted comments become part of official public record.
