The Sacramento County’s Assessor’s Office has received an award for its recently redesigned website, Sacramento County Assessor Kathleen Kelleher announced on Friday.
The Public Information Program Award is given by the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) to assessment jurisdictions with effective systems for giving taxpayers information about the property tax assessment process.
The Assessor’s Office redesigned website took two years to put together and was launched on March 1, 2013. The website used contributions from the County Department of Technology and customer focus groups on how to present property tax assessment information and other resources.
"I am so pleased that their contributions were found to be worthy of recognition from our peers," Kelleher said in a press release.
The International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) honored the recipients of the Public Information Program Award for 2013 at the IAAO Annual Awards Breakfast on Aug. 27 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The new website includes resources grouped for property owners, business owners and real estate professionals; an Assessed Value Lookup feature; online assessment review filing and access to property tax forms.
