Sellers joins Gartner from e.Republic, where she most recently served as director of Strategic Accounts.
“I’ve spent my entire career working with state and local government, and I have so much respect for those who choose to serve the public,” Sellers told Techwire. “I really wanted an opportunity to work with California state government more directly, and I am excited to be able to do that at Gartner.”
Susan Buytenhuys, Gartner’s area vice president for state and local government, told Techwire she’s happy to have Sellers join the company.
“We are thrilled to have Melissa join the Health and Human Services team,” Buytenhuys said. “With her professionalism and passion, and with her background here in Sacramento, she’s going to be a fabulous addition. She is an asset and will bring tremendous value to our clients here in the state of California.”
Sellers had spent almost 20 years with e.Republic, parent company of Techwire and other publications, beginning as an account manager in 2002 and holding increasingly responsible roles before her promotion to director of Strategic Accounts.
Sellers earned her master’s degree in business administration, with a concentration in finance and general studies, from Washington State University Graduate School. She has been a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento for almost seven years.
