Udermann has decades of experience in technology, having held multiple sales and management positions in California. He was most recently with Intel, and his previous affiliations include Red Hat, NetApp, VMware, EMC, Brocade Communications Systems, New Tech Solutions, Ricoh and IBM. He has a deep background in selling to state and local government and education entities.

The Stockton resident told Industry Insider — California that he’s eagerly embracing his new position with the multinational company, whose California office is in San Francisco.

“I am excited to be starting this new role at Samsara,” Udermann said via email. “The world of physical operations is quickly becoming digitally transformed using a connected cloud operations dashboard to better understand vehicle driver safety, lowering cost of fuel and insurance, allowing for better site visibility — and asset tracking is key to transforming operations. Real-time data collection of all physical assets is critical to making better operation decisions.”

Samsara offers a range of products and services to the public and private sectors including video-based safety, vehicle telematics, equipment monitoring and workforce apps, as well as platform and integration services. Its goal is to improve safety, efficiency and sustainability for public-sector agencies across the nation.

Udermann’s manager is Brian Glowiak, director of major accounts in the public sector for the Western states. He told Industry Insider via email that he’s pleased to bring Udermann on board.

“We are excited to announce the addition of Bob Udermann to our state of California team! With extensive experience in working with state agencies and a proven ability to deliver innovative, transformative technologies, Bob brings a unique combination of expertise and vision to our organization,” Glowiak said. “Bob’s deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities within California’s public sector will play a vital role in strengthening our ability to serve this critical market. His customer-focused approach and dedication to driving impactful solutions will not only enhance our support for state agencies but also foster meaningful partnerships that lead to lasting success.

“We are confident that Bob’s leadership and insights will be instrumental in advancing this mission within the state of California,” Glowiak added. “Welcome aboard, Bob!”
