San Diego Calls on Vendors for System Replacements, Information

Several significant technology projects are out for bid with deadlines set for later this month. The projects include a new budgeting and forecasting system and a department-wide hardware replacement.

The city of San Diego is seeking vendors and information for three upcoming IT procurements.

The Purchasing and Contracting Department is seeking proposals for “identification, procurement, implementation and ongoing maintenance” of a budgeting and financial forecasting solution to replace its existing system.

The department is responsible for annual operating and capital budgets, as well as financial forecasts across all city departments.

The deadline to submit a bid is 2 p.m. March 28. The point of contact for this RFP is Jerry Gibbs.

The San Diego Housing Commission, meanwhile, has issued an RFP for a networking equipment refresh project. According to the posting, the commission is looking to replace existing network hardware with efficient, scalable and secure equipment, with a special focus on “future proofing, integration capabilities, and adherence to industry best practices.”

“The objective is to establish a reliable, high-performance network infrastructure that meets evolving technology requirements and business objectives,” the RFP notes.

Bid are due no later than 2 p.m. March 25. The point of contact for this RFP is Anthony Griffin.

And finally is a request for information for a cloud-based solution to improve the plan review and permitting process for the Development Services Department (DSD). The solution would handle “building, engineering, and land development approvals, code enforcement case management, short-term rental occupancy approvals, and cannabis approvals.”
