San Diego Council OKs Large Budgeting System Contract

The $4.2 million budgeting and forecasting system contract between the city and Sherpa Government Solutions has been formally approved by the City Council.

The San Diego City Council has approved a large, multiyear contract for a budgeting and forecasting system.

The software-as-a-service contract with Sherpa Government Solutions LLC was unanimously approved by council members Oct. 29.

That agreement outlines a five-year term with as many as five one-year extensions. The terms of the contract state that services rendered will not exceed $4,263,912.82.

Sherpa Government Solutions is a part of Chicago-based Euna Solutions, which specializes in purpose-built budgeting software.

According to the city’s website, the fiscal year 2025 approved budget comes in at just under $6 billion through five operating funds. The adopted budget represents a 12.4 percent increase over the previous fiscal year, amounting to an increase of more than $643 million.

The city’s Department of Information Technology serves 34 departments across 300 locations with more than 13,350 employees, according to budget documents. The department oversees financial services, contract management, architecture and engineering, and service management.
