Senate Oversight Hearing on IT Procurement and Implementation Set for Thursday

The Senate Budget Subcommittee No. 4 on State Administration and General Government on Thursday will hold an oversight hearing on IT procurement and implementation.

On the agenda is Dr. Rosio Alvarez, chair of last year’s Task Force on Re-Engineering IT Procurement for Success.   On August 15, 2013, the task force issued a report with 21 recommendations to improve the way the state approaches major IT projects.     

The task force was originally scheduledto present its recommendations during a hearing last August focused on the MyCalPays project that was halted last year after the state terminated vendor SAP ‘s $90  million contract because of systems errors in the pilot.

Thursday’s hearing starts at 9:30 am (or upon adjournment of the senate floor session)  and will be held in room 2040 in the State Capitol.   From the Senate Budget Committee website, below is the agenda:
