Socure Names Jeff Shultz Chief Technology Officer for Public Sector

Jeff Shultz, a veteran technologist with a deep background in identity verification and fraud prevention, has been named chief technology officer for the public sector by Socure.

Shultz will lead a team “responsible for tailoring Socure’s industry-leading identity verification and fraud prevention solutions to meet the needs of government partners,” the company said in a statement to Industry Insider — California. “As public-sector CTO, he oversees solution consulting, product development and account management for Socure’s public sector team.

“Shultz’s expertise helps government agencies modernize their systems with advanced technologies that can combat identity fraud and ensure equitable access to critical services for all Americans,” Socure said.

“I’m thrilled to take on this role as public-sector CTO at Socure, as it allows me to more closely align our product and technical road map to continue providing the best-in-class identity verification and fraud prevention technologies to solve the problems that I have been working on for over a decade for government agencies,” Shultz told Industry Insider.

“Modernizing legacy systems and processes is crucial for enhancing security, reducing costs and improving citizen services across federal, state, and local organizations,” Shultz said. “With Socure's leading solutions, I look forward to partnering with public-sector leaders to build a more equitable and trustworthy future for digital identity management.”

Shultz has experience in the private and public sectors, driving product teams to actionable outcomes, and he has co-authored nine patents related to identity and payments. He has also served for six years as a U.S. Air Force Cyber Warfare Officer, leading diverse teams on missions related to national cyber defense.

His previous professional affiliations include Booz Allen Hamilton, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), ID.me, Early Warning, and the federal Government Services Agency.

Shultz is a graduate of the Product Management program at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and holds a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University.
