The South Coast Air Quality Management District released an RFI on July 7 for optical remote sensing technology that can evaluate emissions from refinery flares.
The technology will be expected to be capable of measuring destruction and combustion efficiencies of flares, pollutants and toxic emissions.
The selected vendor is expected to provide software that analyzes the data. Initially the technology will not be connected to a network, with the data being collected by the South Coast Air Quality Management District.
The RFP has been approved and is expected to be released within the month, according to Air Quality Specialist Dairo Moody.
No maximum contract amount has been announced.
