South San Francisco IT Director nominated as president of MISAC

The Municipal Information Systems Association of California (MISAC) will welcome new leadership in 2012 with the appointment of current vice president Doug Hollis as president of the organization.

Hollis, who serves as the director of information technology for the city of South San Francisco, began his current term as vice president of the MISAC in 2010 and will begin his two-year term as president in January. He will replace current MISAC president Bryon Horn, who works as the computer services division manager for the city of Fresno.

MISAC represents IT directors from cities, police and fire departments, utility districts and other municipal entities. The organization provides guidance and information for IT workers in an effort to improve services in municipalities throughout California, according to the MISAC website. Earlier this month the organization held its 10th annual conference in Monterey where more than 250 IT professionals attended.
