The California Victim Compensation Board is recruiting for a deputy executive officer over the IT Division (Career Executive Assignment), “a significant member of an executive management team,” according to the job posting. It calls for “experience developing policies and procedures for complex information technology systems that includes analyzing highly complex problems, recommending effective courses of action, and developing performance metrics and reporting standards that ensure consistency and track results.” The position reports to the board’s executive officer. Applicants’ desirable qualifications should include a background in application development as well as experience experience with the state’s IT procurement processes and experience with contract and vendor management. The California Department of Technology is accepting applications through Friday’s deadline for a chief of Web services (IT Manager II) in the Office of Enterprise Technology. According to the job posting, the incumbent “will build and foster a dynamic team responsible for the development, maintenance and support of web-based services and solutions including the California Web Publishing Service, CA.Gov Portal, various statewide web policies and the management of the ca.gov domain. The IT Mgr II is also responsible for organizing and leading state communities of practice and partnering with the Office of Digital Innovation on strategic initiatives. The IT Mgr II will also outreach and collaborate with the state’s digital and web communities to understand critical issues impacting the state and plan, deliver and manage common technology platforms and shared services.” The position has a monthly salary range of $9,725 to $11,821.
The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) is recruiting for a GIS specialist (IT Specialist I) to serve as “a lead on complex GIS applications in the E-Services unit. The incumbent will work independently as a technical specialist, using Esri GIS and related software for creating, modifying, and updating complex Geographic Information System (GIS) information used internally and externally,” according to the job posting. “The incumbent will perform system analysis, design, programming, documenting, testing and training for departmental IT applications using advanced spatial concepts and implement applications defined by complex and critical GIS business needs. … The incumbent is responsible for data documentation and data exchange; providing day-to-day coaching and support for desktop GIS to GIS users; assisting CDTFA staff with local GIS project design and implementation; providing ArcGIS desktop and GIS tool training specific to CDTFA data; and assist in conducting surveys or other activities to identify and resolve user needs and hardware/software/network problems. The incumbent will also assist in the coordination with external GIS service providers for GIS application support and development on complex GIS system problems.” The position has a monthly salary range of $5,562 to $8,999, and the recruitment will remain open until the position is filled.
