CalSTA is seeking a cybersecurity compliance officer (IT Manager II) to direct “complex privacy activities” in alignment with CalSTA departmental chief information security officers and managers and supervisors throughout IT areas as well as Business Program management. “This position oversees cybersecurity compliance activities at all CalSTA constituent divisions and departments,” according to the job posting and duty statement. “The compliance activities are performed by a variety of IT managers, supervisors, their staff, state contractors, business program staff, managers, supervisors and contractors.”
CalSTA encompasses the state’s key transportation departments, including the California Department of Transportation, the California Highway Patrol, Department of Motor Vehicles, the High-Speed Rail Authority and the Office of Traffic Safety.

The network and security architect (IT Specialist III), reporting to DCC’s chief information officer, “independently plans, organizes and completes activities related to the research, development, implementation and support of the server, network, storage and security environments” of DCC, the job posting says. “The incumbent is responsible for providing support and oversight of the department’s entire server, firewalls, network, storage and security environments including both headquarters and remote computing locations supporting the department.”

ESO provides desktop support, web services, net/server services and telecom services, according to the job posting. The section chief ensures the department’s information management strategy is maintained in alliance with the business strategic plan and assists in the development of IT policies. The section chief also serves as part of the management team.
