With planning continuing for a new grants management system, the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) is recruiting for a chief of its IT Services Division.
A source said the position is expected to be part of a staff reorganization at the commission. CIO Tracy Howard remains with CSAC.
In the 2016-17 state budget, CSAC has requested $5.5 million, including $2.5 million for new security mitigation activities needed for the legacy Grant Delivery System, CSAC also has requested $3.4 million to fund positions and contractors for the Grants Delivery System Modernization. The Grant Delivery System Modernization project is currently in the second stage — the alternatives analysis — of the Department of Technology's project approval process.
CSAC administers $1.8 billion in financial aid programs for students attending public and private universities, colleges and vocational schools in California.
The chief of the IT Services Division will manage six IT programs and will directly manage the Grant Delivery System Modernization project. The deadline to apply is March 4.
