Tech Moves: Rose, Plantz, Easton, Fifelski and local laptop giveaway!

Debbie Rose has been appointed director of the Office of Systems Integration (OSI) where she has served as acting director since August 2011 and as chief deputy director since 2009. Prior to serving at OSI, Rose held a variety of leadership positions at the California Department of Social Services (CDSS), including Chief of the Program Integrity Branch. From 1992-1995, she served as an Associate Administrator at the California Department of Transportation and from 1988-1992 as an Analyst with CDSS.

Sue Plantz has left her position as CIO of CalEMA and joined the California Technology Agency as deputy director for the Telecommunications Governance and Services Division within the Public Safety Communications Office. It’s a newly created position within the office.

Formerly a principal in the Program & Portfolio Management of the Technology Agency, LaTrenda Easton has taken a new position at the Department of Health Care Services as the System Replacement Branch Chief for the CAMMIS project, according to DHCS CIO Chis Cruz.


Kristy Fifelski, or perhaps better known as “GovGirl,” has joined e.Republic as its new media director, the company announced. Fifelski is the creator of GovGirl.com, a unique video blog about government. She worked in city government for more than 10 years, serving as web manager for the City of Reno, NV, public relations coordinator for the City of Wheaton, IL and deputy clerk for the Town of Cortland, IL.
