TechNet presents Senator Padilla with Tech Champion award

California State Senator Alex Padilla has been awarded TechNet’s annual Tech Champion award for California. Senator Padilla has represented Pacoima since 2006 and has authored several bills involving regulations with self-driving cars, voice-over IP and strengthening California’s Smart Grid.

TechNet is a bipartisan network of CEOs involved in the technology Industry. Their Tech Champion award is given annually to California public officials or legislators who strongly and effectively advocate for a pro-technology agenda.

"We are thrilled to give this award to Senator Padilla," said Jim Hawley, Senior Vice President of State Policy at TechNet, in a TechNet press release. "Senator Padilla has been an incredible friend to the tech community and we applaud his dedication in promoting discovery and keeping California the global home for innovation."

Padilla received the award yesterday at TechNet’s Annual Policy Conference and Tech Academy.
