Technology Veteran Pirie Joins HPE as Zerto Sales Specialist for Western States

Pirie has a deep background in technology sales, with strengths in cloud technology, state and local government sales, IT strategy, professional services and data center technologies, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Zerto, which was acquired by HPE in 2021, specializes in the data protection and disaster recovery market, and Zerto’s cloud migration capabilities and cloud-native solutions align with the state’s emphasis on cloud migration.

“For me, this is another exciting role focused on helping to protect critical data and ensure business continuity for California’s government agencies,” Pirie told Industry Insider — California via email. “I’m looking forward to working with the state of California to work [to] provide cutting-edge technology and build strong relationships with key decision-makers. I hope to make a significant positive impact on the state’s digital infrastructure and security of essential government services.”

David Goodwin, national sales manager for HPE Zerto Public Sector, said Pirie will be an asset to the company.

In addition to serving state government, Pirie will also handle public-sector clients throughout the Western states, not including the federal government.

Pirie has decades of experience, having been affiliated in various sales leadership roles with Oracle, Effectual, NetApp, EMC, Dimension Data and Northrop Grumman. He has numerous professional licenses and credentials. He is an alumnus of the University of Maryland, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in economics, his master’s in computer science management, and his Master of Business Administration in finance.
