“As a client of Info-Tech for several decades, I understand the value Info-Tech offers to organizations,” Digiorno told Industry Insider — California via email. “[I bring] a wealth of knowledge and experience to better guide organizations on their journey, both strategically and tactically, helping leadership address their challenges head-on in a methodical way.”

Digiorno has 26 years’ service in the public sector, having begun her leadership career at the California Department of Justice, followed by the Department of Health Care Services; the California Department of Technology, where she was the chief information officer; and, most recently, as El Dorado County’s IT director.

Info-Tech’s senior managing partner for U.S. state and local government, Angelina Atkins, said she is pleased to have Digiorno aboard.

“We are excited to have Tonya Digiorno join our service delivery team at Info-Tech,” Atkins told Industry Insider via email. “Coupled with her executive experience in California state and local government agencies, she has successfully leveraged Info-Tech’s services in multiple organizations. Tonya’s leadership and industry insights will be an invaluable resource for Info-Tech members.”

Digiorno said she’s eager to help clients and to connect with industry and government colleagues in her new position.

“My goal is to become a trusted adviser by leveraging my public-sector knowledge and experience to provide Info-Tech members the tools and guidance to ensure successful execution of the organization’s mission-critical priorities,” she said. “I look forward to seeing my former peers and colleagues at future industry events.”

While serving as CDT’s CIO, Digiorno also served as the class coach for the Information Technology Leadership Academy 26, and she earned the IT Leadership Award at the California Public Sector CIO Academy* in 2019.

Digiorno has also been active in industry and government conferences and organizations. She’s served as vice president of the California County Information Services Directors Association (CCISDA), driving the development of their strategic plan and influencing maturity and growth for the association and its members. She has presented education sessions at several events including for CCISDA, leading the Education Committee and developing and teaching courses on innovation and “Developing a Cyber Security Strategy” for the CCISDA Leadership Credential program. She’s also been active in the Municipal Information Systems Association of California (MISAC), the Government IT Congress (keynote speaker), and Info-Tech Live.

Off the job, and with three children enrolled in college, she and her husband look forward to celebrating their daughter’s high school graduation and their oldest son’s college graduation from Utah University, as well as watching him playing collegiate baseball in his senior year. Their plans also include volunteer work at their local church and enjoying travel activities such as skiing, snowboarding, hiking and fishing.
