Tracking the Spend: $2.8M for Water Agency’s Top Five Buys of IT Goods

The Department of Water Resources awarded contracts to Kovarus, Aurora Systems Consulting, CDW-Government and Allied Network Solutions between July 1 and Sept. 30 for its five largest purchases of IT goods.

The state Department of Water Resources (DWR) spent just under $3 million in the third quarter of 2023 on its five largest purchases of IT goods, with contracts covering cloud services, disaster recovery, cyber safety and engineering.

DWR is part of the California Natural Resources Agency and is responsible for the management and regulation of the state’s water usage.

According to the State Contracting and Procurement Registration System, DWR spent $2,810,542 with rounding between July 1 and Sept. 30 on the following purchases:
  • $1,612,404 for VMware Site Recovery Manager 8, in a Sept. 25 Software Licensing Program (SLP) contract with Kovarus Inc.
  • $395,456 for VMware Multi-Cloud TAM (Technical Adoption Management), in a Sept. 27 SLP contract with Kovarus Inc.
  • $393,282 for McAfee Support renewal, in an Aug. 3 SLP contract with Aurora Systems Consulting Ltd.
  • $207,865 for Autodesk architecture engineering, in a July 17 cooperative agreement contract with CDW-Government LLC.
  • $201,535 for Red Hat Enterprise Linux for SAP applications, in a Sept. 15 SLP contract with Allied Network Solutions Inc.
