CARB is “charged with protecting the public from the harmful effects of air pollution and developing programs and actions to fight climate change,” it says on its website.
According to the State Contracting and Procurement Registration System, CARB spent $4,215,093 (with rounding) on its five largest purchases of IT goods between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2023. Those contracts were:
- $1,295,207 for a purchase order for fiscal year 2022-23, the details of which were not available. The contract was awarded April 13 to Key Government Finance and runs through Oct. 1, 2026, and was non-competitively bid.
- $1,073,443 for HP Ultrabook notebook computers, in a June 2 statewide contract with NWN Solutions Corp.
- $765,896 for Dun & Bradstreet Market Insight and Direct Plus Subscription and Renewal, in a Nov. 30 contract with Dun & Bradstreet that runs through Nov. 29, 2025.
- $542,925 for Tempo Timekeeping software as a service, for a term from Aug. 1, 2023, through July 31, 2024. This contract was awarded under the Software Licensing Program (SLP).
- $537,622 for Microsoft Premier Enterprise Support, in an April 11 SLP contract with Crayon Software Experts LLC that runs through April 1, 2024.
By way of comparison, CARB spent $2,389,553 on its five largest buys of IT goods in 2022.
