Tracking the Spend: $8.8M for CHP’s 5 Largest Buys of IT Goods in Q2

The California Highway Patrol’s five largest purchases between April 1 and June 30 included switches and other network gear, radio equipment and notebook computers.

The California Highway Patrol spent just less than $9 million on its five largest buys of IT goods in the second quarter of 2024.

The purchases included network switches, notebook computers and radio equipment, according to the State Contracting and Procurement Registration System. In all, those five purchases between April 1 and June 30 totaled $8,897,873 (with rounding). The items and amounts, all purchased on statewide contracts, were:
  • $3,199,985 for Aruba network switches and related equipment, in a May 9 contract with NWN Solutions Corp.
  • $2,999,906 for multiband radio and walkie-talkie equipment in a May 9 contract with Motorola Solutions Inc.
  • $961,999 for switches and related gear in a June 5 contract with Presidio Networked Solutions Group.
  • $957,558 for notebook computers and related equipment in an April 24 contract with CDW Government LLC.
  • $778,425 for professional services related to software customization in an April 8 contract with Coban Technologies Inc.
For comparison, in the corresponding period of 2023, CHP spent $4,797,381 on its five largest buys of IT goods.
