Tracking the Spend: Insurance Department’s Top 5 Buys of IT Goods

The California Department of Insurance spent just over $6 million on its five largest purchases of IT goods last year.

The California Department of Insurance spent just over $6.2 million on its five largest purchases of IT goods in 2023.

The agency responsible for regulating the insurance industry within the state spent $6,231,459 on its five largest buys of IT goods, according to the State Contracting and Procurement Registration System (SCPRS).

The five largest purchases were (numbers have been rounded):

  • $3,617,898 for software licensing through Crayon Software Experts LLC. That contract is set to run through Feb. 28, 2026. 
  • $919,500 for Oracle Advanced Security through Taborda Solutions Inc. That contract is active through Feb. 20, 2026.
  • $662,377 for an annual subscription for SAS Cloud Analytics for Government through The iFish Group. This contract is closed.
  • $586,325 for computer data storage management systems through Roundstone Solutions Inc. This contract is closed.
  • $445,358 for eCounsel software renewal through Mitratech Holdings Inc. This contract expires Sept. 30, 2024.
