The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is seeking a chief for its Information Technology Business Management Section, an IT Manager I classification. The new chief will work under Caltrans’ chief of its Project and Business Management Division, a CEA B-classification executive. The successful candidate will be charged with management and oversight of Caltrans’ administrative operations and IT technical specialty areas including Technology Business Management, IT Acquisitions, IT Certifications and IT Contracts, according to the job listing, which was posted Tuesday.
The new chief will primarily be responsible for “developing, planning, organizing and managing the functions of the subordinate groups” and must “gain and maintain the confidence and cooperation of others and act with flexibility and tact to achieve the goals of the Department, Division and chief information officer,” according to the job listing.
