The role, which would report to the CIO, is a senior leadership position within the Office of the President’s Information Technology Services (ITS) department. The hired candidate will be responsible for both user experience design and customer-facing digital communications and marketing, as well as leading conferences, trainings and events.
With a “high degree of autonomy,” the chief digital experience and engagement officer’s work will include:
- Overseeing the communication, digital experience and marketing strategies of ITS’ digital products and services to support department goals and elevate brand awareness
- Supporting those strategies with user research as well as input from internal and external sources
- Developing and managing tools and programs for strategic communications, digital marketing and customer experience, and supporting them across their life cycle
- Leading the digital experience unit, including professional development, vendor management, contracts and budgeting
The role also requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/training in a related field. An advanced degree in communication, marketing, information or business systems is preferred.
The job’s classification is Business System Analysis Manager 2, and the pay scale is $180,000-$207,000 per year. It is located in Oakland. The position will remain open until filled, but the first review date is Aug. 14.
