Several local open solicitations — with deadlines fast approaching — could be worth a look for the right vendors. San Jose, Los Angeles County and San Diego have all posted requests for proposals (RFPs) for tech-related goods and services.
San Jose has two open technology solicitations. The first is for an integrated library software solution that will handle “circulation, cataloging, acquisitions, related transactions via electronic data interchange, authority control, reports, serials, and patron debt collection” for the San Jose Public Library. The deadline for this request for proposals is July 15. No point of contact was listed for this RFP.
The second has less available detail, but is described as a fiber-optic cable upgrade. Vendors registered with the city’s e-procurement provider, Biddingo, can access the full solicitation packages for more information. Proposals are due by 12 p.m. July 15. No point of contact was listed for this RFP.
Los Angeles County is also in the market for library tech and is looking for a vendor to supply a new book checkout system at the Downey City Library. That system is brand-specific, according to the hardware solicitation package, and should include touchscreen monitors, bar code readers, and associated hardware.
The solicitation was originally published June 27, and proposals are due by 12 p.m. July 11. The point of contact for this solicitation is Michael Corral.
The city of San Diego, meanwhile, has put out a call for vendors to supply energy billing and usage management software. More detail and associated documentation is available to vendors registered with the city’s e-procurement system.
The deadline to submit a proposal is 2 p.m. July 12. The point of contact for this RFP is listed as Sandra Vasquez.
