Verizon has named Patty Roze its new Vice President for Public Sector Sales for SLED (State, Local and Education). In this role, she leads a nationwide team responsible for developing solutions to address the complex requirements of Verizon’s state government, local government and education clients.

Roze began with Verizon 20 years ago as a business account executive, rising through the ranks in various individual contributor and leadership roles selling into government and large enterprise customers focused on the breadth of Verizon’s offerings.

Most recently before beginning her new role, she was director of global enterprise sales for Verizon’s Transportation, Distribution and Construction vertical market, supporting complex accounts that included FedEx, UPS, Pepsi, Coca-Cola and JetBlue. Her previous Verizon roles included director of enterprise sales for the company’s Energy & Utility vertical market; global enterprise manager; interim associate director of strategic accounts; and major account manager responsible for selling Verizon wireless telecommunications and data services to a select account base of Fortune 500 companies.

“I am excited to join Verizon’s public sector team and leverage my experience to serve some of our most important customers: state and local agencies and education clients,” said Roze. “Over my 20-year career at Verizon, I have watched this company repeatedly step up to provide mission-critical communications to first responders and other essential entities at times of crisis. During these unprecedented times with COVID-19, it is critical that we keep our public sector customers connected — finding ways to accelerate technology to further enable agencies in the new norm we find ourselves in.”

Roze is based in Houston, and is a graduate of Ashford University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management, with a specialization in entrepreneurship.
