Plain, who has long worked to pair emerging technology with the needs of government agencies, joins VIP from his role as head of services for Kyndi, a provider of artificial intelligence software based in San Mateo. Before working with Kyndi, he served as regional vice president of professional services at OpenText, which offers enterprise information management software and solutions. He has also held senior positions with CDWG and Cisco.
“We are pleased to have Russell as part of our Public Sector group,” said Jonna Ward, chair and CEO of VIP. “His understanding of the needs of government agencies, paired with his experience, particularly with our valued partner, OpenText, will help to drive new business opportunities to further scale our company and accelerate our success.”
The expansion of the VIP staff follows an investment made in late 2018 by Morgan Stanley Credit Partners to accelerate the growth of VIP and its wholly owned subsidiary, Meridian Knowledge Solutions.
